Guide To A Sailing Charter In Norway

by  D. Browall 4/2/2008

The Norwegian coast is a heaven for sailors with picturesque small towns and a coastline especially on the south coast filled with islands.

The fjords and the mountainous landscape gives you the possibility to create interesting itineraries that are unique along the 1.200 nautical miles long coastline.

The beauty of Norway doesn’t only depend on its mountains and fjords but also on the diversity of its islands, which makes sailing in Norway truly enjoyable. All you have to do is charter a yacht, and then you can give yourself one unique and memorable holiday for you and your family.

One of the most fascinating places to visit in Norway is Bergen. It is a small town, the income of which is much dependent on tourism. Perhaps the reason could be attributed to the fact that the city acts like a portal for the glamorous fjords that comprise Norway. Moreover, there are several amateur bands that tirelessly play all over the community. Hence, while you’re waiting for your charter to arrive, you can sit down and listen to these individuals play their own music.

Sailing in Norway is like heaven. But where do you go? A good suggestion will be in the Norwegian South Coast region. By nature, the weather along this area is sometimes unpredictable. However, you can have many sheltered places along your charter. If you’re sailing alone, you can anchor your boat on any of the mountains near the fjords. Nevertheless, for safety purposes, ensure that you have the right safety equipment ...

Vacationing On Your Own Terms

by  Jason Rhodes 9/21/2007

Cruise lines are popular forms of travel down to the Bahamas. Cruise lines such as Carnival coordinate cookie cutter vacations with strict itineraries to ports of call like Nassau/Paradise Island and Grand Bahama Island. While cruise ships have many amenities such as fitness centers, a pool area, spas and all-inclusive packages, are they meant to be the vacation destination?

For the innovative vacationers, who want to go to paradise and back via the sea have a unique option to visit exotic destinations for a personalized luxury vacation, otherwise known as a Luxury Yacht Charter. The Bahamas has so much more to offer than just Atlantis, a few waterfalls and a market place, but no cruise ship will ever go off the beat and path to take you there. Remember anywhere that you stop on a cruise, you are on the clock.

The true meaning of a vacation is a reprieve from ordinary life with the freedom to choose your recreation and forms of travel. Yacht Chartering is becoming more common these days. For Yacht owners it has become a way for them to defray exuberant costs for a vessel that they will only use a month or two of the year. by  Richard Yap 9/21/2007

In today’s fast world and lifestyle, everybody gets stressed out. A break is extremely essential to get away from the blues and get your mind and body to relax. If you are a family man, it is even more important to spend some quality time with the family. There is no better way to relax than take your family out for a vacation and a cruise is one of the best ways to do it.

There are a hundred reasons why you should take your family on a cruise.

Two Categories of Reasons

• If you are single or with a partner, the reasons are pretty much the same. There are a thousand different destinations around the world which you can choose from. There are various other activities that you can pursue when your ship docks at each one of these exotic places. You can have a share of the local history, explore art forms, go hiking, mountain biking or simply lay in the sand and give yourself a good tan.

Wedding Cruise Packages: an overview

by  Kelly Hunter 9/21/2007

Little girls dream of growing up one day, wearing a white veil and walking down the aisle. However, by the time it is about to happen, perspectives and desires may have changed. No longer wanting a “traditional” wedding, everybody wants to do it differently, some going so far as getting married underwater. That sounds uncomfortable and not romantic at all and, well, wet.

One alternative that still manages to be romantic albeit nontraditional is the wedding cruise, sometimes referred to as the honeymoon cruise because the actual wedding is performed at the port. Think Love Boat and you get a picture of how it could be romantic. You still get married surrounded by water but you can dispense with the oxygen mask.

Apparently, however, it is not so uncommon for a couple to decide to go on a cruise ship instead of the church to get hitched. Based on the bewildering varieties of wedding cruse packages being offered, there must be a great demand for the service.

Packages can range from a two-hour private yacht shindig starting at $495 good for 12 guests to an elaborate 7-day cruise with a flat fee of $2,250 for on-board wedding and $1,000 per guest. If both the bride and groom have few friends and no family, then this could be the ideal wedding cruise package. However, it seems to be a bit weird to bring your wedding guests along on the honeymoon, especially if one of them is a hostile father/mother-in-law. Hopefully it is a very ...

River Cruising - A Popular Choice for Cheap Luxury Cruises

by  Virginia Morgan 9/21/2007

Travel agents are used to getting calls from travelers interested in luxury travel vacations who want to travel on a budget. While some more experienced travelers may roll their eyes, there is one big secret for travelers who are looking for a five star experience on a three star budget. It is called river cruising.

These river cruises have all the benefits that large cruise ships have. River cruising ships and itineraries are specifically set up to meet the highest standards of luxury, comfort, and convenience, similar to that of a luxury world cruise. You only unpack your bags once, dining is included in the price, and you can visit several different locations. Unlike big sea cruise vessels, river cruise boats are much smaller, with a maximum passenger number of about 150. There are no large crowds onboard during dining times and at on board activities. You will come to know your fellow travelers very well, and are likely to form bonds to last a lifetime. Thanks to the small and intimate number of travelers, the attention paid to each traveler on a river cruise ship is truly the height of luxury.

With river cruises, you get more included in your fare than large sea cruises, making it a luxury travel vacation full of added value. River cruises usually include a half-day land excursion for each day of the cruise. Many river cruise boats do not have interior cabins, meaning you will have more views of the countryside. While most sea cruise ...
