Top Reasons Why Your Image Still Matters Behind the Computer

by  Dr. Joyce Knudsen 4/17/2011

Some people think just because they are behind the computer etiquette rules do not apply, or showing charisma and passion about their business doesn’t matter. But it still makes a huge difference.

The internet is one of the most ambiguous channels of communication. It is, however, also one of the fastest communications. Many of us find it hard to survive without email.

Netiquette and internet manners, is a combination of the words network and etiquette. We publish the Official Rules of Netiquette, the code of good behavior on the internet. Good internet manners count!

Netiquette (network etiquette) is the social code of the internet. A network is a collection of computers that can communicate. Etiquette is a social code of behavior according to contemporary and conventional standards. Therefore, netiquette is the social code of the internet because the internet is a network and etiquette is a social code.

Do unto others as you would have done to you.

Basis of a good universal code of conduct:

1) PERCEPTION: Internet networking is an art; building mutually long term relationships requires the same quality of professional courtesy and dual respect as any other medium of communication. Inner wellness can be expressed in many forms; one of which is the Internet!

2)EMAIL

a) Never contain too much personal opinion, emotional elements, cartoons, slogans or jokes when sending formal business email.

b) Learn to use the emoticon chart (below) as they are all appropriate for informal business emails to keep us up to date:

* :] or:-] = Friendly

How To Create The Winning Edge

by  Terry Warner 4/17/2011

Do you ever wonder why some people succeed and others fail? Do you ever wonder what the success people do that the unsuccessful people don’t do?

For a long time I just figured they were born wealthy, rich and famous. Then I met a few people, especially athletes that overcame difficult odds to win. In their rise to the top, they were not wealthy, rich or famous. So, what drove them to succeed?

They were people. Just like you or me. They got up every morning, ate breakfast and started their mundane and routine day. They returned home at night, ate supper and went to bed. They arose the next morning to repeat the same process.

• If it wasn’t riches.
• If it wasn’t wealth.
• If it wasn’t being famous.
• Then what was it?

It was an attitude! That’s right: ATTITUDE

The attitude is determined by an inner drive. It is more than positive thinking. Positive thinking is going to get you so far and then it is of no value. In order to succeed and succeed big, positive thinking is required but positive thinking does not create the winning edge. It may help you attain a winning edge but before one is truly a winner there has to be something deeper, something not seen, that can give one the advantage so they can obtain the winning edge.

One of the first items in creating the winning edge and the most important item as well, is being able to see the end result, the winner. If ...

Recognising Success

by  Tony Fahkry 4/17/2011

Where do you currently stand in relation to success? Is it an elusive dream which seems unattainable? Are you the embodiment of success? There are people who attract success like a magnet and others who couldn’t find success if it was sitting on their front door.

In our quest to learn more about success, it’s essential that we define the term ’success.’ One man’s success may be another man’s failure. People often compare their success to others. John lives in a beautiful home with an expensive car, holidays four times a year and has a gorgeous wife and family. What they fail to see is the underlying, hidden attributes which make up John’s life. It’s easy to look at another man’s riches as better than yours, without appreciating the other hidden factors.

We should strive for ’excellence,’ not success. If one aims for success, is become elusive much like trying to find happiness. If you focus on excellence, success is guaranteed since it’s the by-product of great work and deeds.

Reflect on how you define success? Make a list of how success looks to you. What does it mean to be successful? Acquiring materials possessions? Sustaining fulfilling relationships, connection to a universal source? Or any number of the above points? How will you know when you’re successful?

My definition of success has changed immeasurably over the years. If I was asked to define success during my twenties, it meant being rich and wealthy, working twenty days a year and travelling the world.

Success these days ...

Driving Us Forward

by  Marty Reep 4/17/2011

What moves us forward into "the next"? The things of life and the hidden forces of the universe drive us forward - propel us - into the next moment, the next year, and the next lifetime. When we stand on the edge of those driving forces and look into their depths, we see the incredible power within. We don’t have to believe it completely, but we have to accept it at face value, for whether we like it or not, those forces are real. They exist in a level of strata that coincides with that of innate directions and perceptions granted to us by the Creator of the universe.

Winged-perceptions: ideas that carry us from one world to the next - they’re there to expedite our way, otherwise, we would shuffle along, biding our time in areas of safety. Yet, when we live out those ideas, we realize that worlds we couldn’t imagine, before, have now become a regular part of our lives, hence, the grander the scheme, the deeper the understanding. We have an awesome responsibility, when it comes to our personal lives and to the lives of those around us. Foolish decisions can jeopardize all.

However, if we live in the realm of the unseen, with our history in the seen, we will carry out the winged-perceptions shown to us, while rightly paving the way for others, by the things of life that are driving us forward. Ideas are not just for us to have rattling around in our heads ...

5 Common Misguided Beliefs about Successful People

by  Billy Ryan 4/17/2011

There are some misguided beliefs and superstitions about successful people that I would like you to think about....

Successful people are Lucky- I will reveal why luck has absolutely nothing to do with becoming successful.

They are well educated - Of course there are many entrepreneurs who are very well educated but it is not the reason for their success.

Successful people are chosen OR there is a divine force behind their success- This is not true and in this report you will discover why and how anyone including yourself can experience the same success.

Success is Genetic- Having successful parents can make a difference, however, not for the reasons you may think. Success is not genetic or inherited; if your parents are successful this doesn’t necessarily mean you will be too. In the same way there are many successful people whose parents were broke.

Successful people are bad, they must have done something illegal or unethical to become rich, they trick people into giving them money- People who do business like this very rarely sustain long term success.

They are Greedy- This is quite the contrary; successful people are actually very giving, that’s why they are so successful.

They were given a huge amount of money to get started with - Many entrepreneurs start from nothing, some may even have debt.

If you have ever met someone who is successful, you may have noticed that there is nothing extraordinary about that person. For some unknown reason everything seems to just go right for them, opportunities seem to ...

23 Common Characteristic’s of an Entrepreneur

by  Billy Ryan 4/17/2011

#1 - Entrepreneur’s take responsible for their own destiny
Successful people do not blame other people or their circumstance for their current situation. They believe it is their responsibility to achieve what they desire. They do not wait for it to fall into their lap or rely on other people to make it happen for them. A lot of people sit and wait for their fortune to find them, hoping that they will win the lottery or a long lost relative will leave them a massive inheritance. Sadly the odds of this happening are very low.

#2 - Entrepreneur’s conquer their fears
Facing your fear is a very important step on the path to success. Fear is the most common reason why people do not take the required action they need to take to achieve their goals. Don’t let fear hold you back.

#3 - Entrepreneur’s overcome any obstacles
"Obstacles are those frightful things you see when you take your eyes off your goals"- Sydney Smith

Having an obstacle is the same as having a problem that needs a solution. A successful person will see this as a challenge and look to find a solution to the problem in order to overcome the obstacle. Unsuccessful people will use the obstacle as an excuse as to why they haven’t achieved anything.

#4 - Entrepreneur’s know that there is unlimited opportunity
Unsuccessful people seem to complain about lack... lack of money and lack of opportunities. Successful people know that there is an abundance of money out there, and opportunities are ...

The Wisdom Principle Of Being Honest

by  Sheldon Newton 4/17/2011

The success principle of honesty is a lost art among many people. To be honest is a part of success, because it shows that a person can be trusted. When we are people of our word, letting our yea be yea, and our nay, nay, we actually reveal that we are worth doing business with. Our word should be our bond. When we say we will do something, people ought to be able to carry that to the bank.

Honesty shows that we honor those with whom we associate. We respect them. It does not matter how good we are with our talents and gifts. Regardless of how well we do what we do, if our words cannot be trusted, people will lose faith in us.

People love to do business with those who are fair, honest and reliable. Actually, if you are going to attract the attention of the key players in the business world, those who stand out above the rest, you will have to learn how to be honest in your dealings with your fellowman. Your reputation will get around before you arrive on the scene.

People are always talking, and if you are not an honest person, word will get around that you cannot be trusted. Your character, the Book of Proverbs points out, is more valuable than silver or gold. This is true, even though many in today’s society do not want to believe it.

If you are a liar, or someone who cheats people out of their money ...

5 Commandments Of Success In The 21st Century

by  Kenaleone Sekgweleo 2/4/2011

The first commandment: Thou shall not be poor. This is the first and the most important commandment, that I believe if it was in the bible most of Africans won’t be poor today. Because most of them are spiritual so they could have been scared of being sinners. In this life of today no matter how much spiritually you are you cannot survive if you are poor. If you are poor you are a sinner because there are many opportunities out there to grab. You can be whatever you want if you put your mind into it. So in the 21st century if you are poor you are a sinner. Some of the people do not want to participate or work hard and make excuses. They make excuses like they are waiting for the kingdom of God. It is just an excuse of not wanting to work hard. You believe that if you are poorly you are spiritual. That is not the truth most, of the kings in the bible were wealthy even Jesus was also rich. He preached abundance in his teachings.

The Second Commandment: Let money work for you not you working for money: Money works for you when you can live the life you want. If you currently you are working and you cannot afford a car of your dreams or a house that means you work for money. If you work most the time so that you can make extra money and you miss the time with ...

Secret to Success! The 12 Things You Need!

by  Cassie Lang 2/4/2011

I bet we’ve all wondered why some people are so successful, and asked what do they have that we don’t? When people talk about the secret to success, it’s almost like they are saying there is this hidden formula to which if you could just find out what it was, you would all of a sudden be as successful. If there was such a thing, surely we would all be doing it?!

With this in mind, I found myself researching the secret to success, looking at a range of successful people, to find out what it is that makes them so successful.

Most highly successful people were not born with that ’special something’ that gave them the key to success. In fact, I noticed that a lot of successful people had a tough start in life, left school with no qualifications and were not born into wealthy successful families.

Those people have acquired certain characteristics and learned valuable lessons to get them to that level of success and in general, the fact that they did not have the best start is the drive they needed.
As a result of my research, I am going to summarise the key things I found successful people to have:

1. -Persistence
2. -Determination
3. -Positive attitude
4. -Patience
5. -Passion
6. -Innovation
7. -Hard work ethic
8. -Resilience
9. -Forward thinking
10. -Proactive
11. -Belief
12. -Learning

To illustrate this I will discuss some highly successful people who have all the above characteristics and how they differ from the rest of us! These people have some, if not, all of the ...

Your Desire For Success

by  Anthony Jenks 1/22/2011

Desire is a starting point of any achievement. To achieve anything big you have to start with a desire for that. Everyone who achieved something important had a strong and clear desire for that achievement. This is not some kind of a hope, neither a wish, it is a definite, strong and clear desire which doesn’t waver or disappear over time.

If you have a dream you want to turn into reality, start with desire for your ultimate goal, learning and experiencing anything necessary. You must eliminate the lack of ambition and laziness. A lot of people had experienced hard times before they actually achieved their goal. It is important to learn from failures and keep on going. There is nothing you can not overcome as long as you believe in positive outcome.

The most difficult times can sometimes bring you the knowledge and experience that you usually wouldn’t get from anywhere. When you form your desire you have to turn it into a faith. You are not ready to progress unless you do it. It takes some effort to do all of this, but know that creating misery and wealth require the same effort. Life is ready to deliver to you what you seek for, you just have to ask for it.

When you have a burning desire for something, you are capable of doing almost anything to make it happen. If you keep it grow, it will turn into faith. As long as you hold it in your mind it has ...

Think and Grow Rich Secret: Desire

by  Sean Michael Ryan 1/22/2011

Desire means knowing what you want, and is the first principle of success in "Think and Grow Rich". You need to focus your attention and your minds energy like a laser beam onto what you desire the most, and the universe will respond in kind, with people, opportunities and seemingly random events that allow you to bring your desire to fruition-you just have to pay attention and catch it when it happens.

Here is where I’d like to make a clarification, or a caveat on what Hill is saying. Throughout this chapter, and the book, the desire for money is held up as being the most important thing, to the point of necessary obsession. And while I think that this is necessary, you must not lose sight of the reason why you want the money. If your intentions are good and pure, God and the universe will make this work for you, giving you what resources you need and want in such abundance, that all you can do is share them with others.

If your intentions are greed and avarice, you will get only the money, if that, and none of the happiness that it brings, and your life will remain empty. Money is not the ultimate goal, but merely a tool for achieving your ultimate goal...your definite major purpose. Think of money as fuel for driving your definite major purpose, be that with providing for your needs so you can pursue your purpose, or if your purpose requires a lot of ...

Create Your Never-To-Do List

by  Cynthia Zhai 1/22/2011

You probably have created a lot of to-do-lists, for your work and your life, for everyday and everything. But, have you ever considered the other list, your never to-do-list? It’s as important as your to-do-list. In fact, I would say it’s even more important.

Here are the top 5 items in my never-to-do-list. They have served me through those years and helped me become who I am. I list them here with the hope of serving as a spur to induce yours.

1. Never Seek Validation from Others

If you are seeking validation from others, you are in self-doubt. If you are not sure about yourself and your ability, no one will have confidence in you. Instead, direct your focus inwards, keep improving yourself and take control of your own future. No one is eligible to tell you if you are good or not, except yourself. Seek perspective, not validation from others.

2. Never Doubt Yourself

Whenever you have a doubt, you strangled any hope that possibly lies ahead. Many a time, what you really doubt is not whether you are able to achieve it or not, but whether you are ready to give out all that you have to make it, be it your efforts, your time, or your energy. All that we want in life can come true, if we are eager enough to get it and adopt the correct way to get it. So the question for you is, are you willing to give out all that you have to make it?

3. ...

Personal Success - The Three Keys

by  Douglass Barrios 12/30/2010

Personal Success. Sounds easy to say but why is it so difficult to achieve? Why are certain people able to obtain the results desired while other never achieve?

We all have our own definition of personal success. Universally, it is important to note that a strong base needs to first exist in order to achieve exceptional human performance. There are three key factors that need to be part of your base as you strive towards personal success.

The first is passion. Enjoy and love what it is you do. The successful individuals are the ones that don’t view their jobs or businesses as boring, tedious, meaningless work. These individuals have positioned themselves in a challenging, rewarding, fulfilling, refreshing, fun atmosphere where they are able to elevate their state of mind and share positive energy with others due to the level of satisfaction they experience. Most of these individuals are contagious, that is you want to be around them because they have a flame that will not go out. Don’t get me wrong, we all have our bad days, but in the end the successful individuals are the ones fueled by their passion and devotion.

The second attribute needed is to have a vision. You must have a game plan and strategy in place on how you want to achieve your specific goals and objectives. How can you achieve success, if you have not documented what is important and what steps you are going to take to accomplish your goals? This would be like ...
