IDEAS FOR PROMOTING YOUR WEBSITE  by

 Diane Robbins
1/15/2009 at 15:06
Sometimes we get lucky and organic searches start hitting our sites right away. But for the most part, it can take more than a year to see real progress on traffic to a site, and that’s with starting to promote it right away.

Step one is making sure that the site is search engine friendly. What are the main keywords? They need to be fully integrated into the basic areas of the site. Without being optimized properly, no level of promotion is going to get the site high in a search engine rank.

Another way to bring attention to a site is through press releases. As soon as the site goes live, issue a press release to a site like PRWeb. Include in the press release a link to the side and with the main keyword(s) hyperlinked. This will get the word out and also provide a valuable back line to the site.

Submit the site to relevant directories.

Build back links. This is one of the most important things that can be done to increase the visibility of a site. The links should be from quality sites that are relevant to the topic of your site.

Use social media to increase your site’s exposure. Sign up at sites like Facebook and MySpace. Include the link to your site. Build a community around your product and use the public to help create buzz about your site.

Write articles about the subject of your site and submit them to sites like Ezine Articles. In the resource box, ...

3 MOST EFFECTIVE WAYS TO GET TRAFFIC TO A NEW WEBSITE  by

 Ken Liang
1/15/2009 at 15:05
Your new website is up, but you are missing one important thing - customers. Yes, it’s very important to have customers or you will not be in business for very long. There are a few different ways to drive customers to your new website.

Using PPC to gain customers

PPC (Pay-Per-Click) is a great way to get customers for your website. It is essentially a means of buying targeted traffic through sites like Google AdWords or Yahoo! Ads. Once again, if your a newbie and you can’t afford to gamble with your skills, this is not recommended as a first step. Although, if you can bankroll it, PPC traffic can drive many customers. You just have to make sure you can do it properly or you’ll lose your shirt trying to turn a profit.

Use an Autoresponder

Another way to get customers from your site is by using an autoresponder service like Aweber or GetResponse. This option allows you to place an opt-in box on your site. The advantage of this box is that it will gather emails address that you can legally broadcast to on a regular even daily basis. It allows you to send out regular email postings to keep them checking for your next interesting broadcast. This comes in handy when you have a new product you want to introduce or launch. Simply, email your list of subscribers and you will start seeing purchases. It’s that easy.

Bum Marketing

Article marketing or bum marketing is a great option if you can’t afford to ...

HOW TO CATCH TRAFFIC AND PROMOTE A WEBSITE WITHOUT SPENDING A CENT   by

 Sameer Aurora
1/15/2009 at 15:05
Here below I shall share, in brevity, technical and general guidelines to promote your website on the internet and optimize for search engines without spending a single cent.

But as apparent, you need to have basic resources like internet, computer, little time, common sense and a Will to make it happen. Along with these resources you shall also require patience, as internet marketing isn’t a quick fix or overnight swarm of traffic.

Search engines and directories can easily take 4 - 6 weeks in order to include your website in their search results therefore you should have abundance patience and try to do things step by step and slowly. I would suggest spending 15 - 60 minutes a day instead of spending 10 hours a day and then quitting after a few days:

Technical Suggestions:

1. Be Yourself: Now every one talks about rich content with relevant rich keywords and it is right ! But while doing so, lets make sure you are you and not someone else. Each sentence of information must be deeply rooted with the theme of your website. In other words, lets make sure not to talk about history of Saudi Arabia on a site that sells pop music. Take care of meta tags and description content.

2. Make it easy for Crawlers: Try to make your site legible for spiders and crawlers. Put lesser dynamic content. Try to use least number of URL parameters like "?&var=" If your site is only HTML content, it will be easy for robots and ...

GOLDEN KEYS TO YOUR SUCCESSFUL WEB SITE  by

 Wendy Tendys
10/6/2008 at 12:34
With several billion web pages being put out onto the web daily and 1 trillion pages searched by Google every day, you wonder at times if your efforts will ever pay off. Here is a word of encouragement - Don’t be discouraged. There are a few golden rules that will ensure your success on the Internet.

Every entrepreneur aiming to succeed in Cyber Space, wants to see their website as No.1 on the Search Engines. To achieve this you need to do several things. First though, you must have quality content, plus a lot of hard work as the major cornerstones of your Internet success. Then you need to think outside the box. The Internet is based on logic, but it is often the illogical that takes you to the top. It often takes only that one whacky idea that works, for you to experience the dizzy heights of success.

There are four golden attributes to success which you cannot by pass: Passion, Patience, Perseverance and Discipline. Do away with any one of these and you join thousands of other would-be entrepreneurs who overestimate the short term results of their website and underestimate the long term results. Hundreds of good sites are abandoned, just when the tide is turning. The authors let themselves slip into disillusionment and quit. Just at the time when they were about to reap the harvest of all their hard work, they abandon their dreams.

There has been a lot written about long keyword tails etc. The true secret ...

HOW TO BUILD A PROFITABLE ONLINE BUSINESS  by

 J. P. Rouse
10/6/2008 at 12:34
When planning to start a new on line business it is critical to stay focused on the ultimate goal which is creating a higher standard of living for yourself and your loved ones. If you start to loose that focus and get frustrated you must take a break and relax because your success depends on it.

Building a business from the ground up takes time and patience. Remember Rome wasn’t built in one day and neither will your new business. 90% of people who fail at an on line business fail because they didn’t follow a proven process or they never knew what the process was.

One of the biggest fears is how to write for the Internet. No one wants to pay webmasters the fees that they charge particularly when the process is a simple as C-T-P-M.

Content-Traffic-Presell-Monetize

The key to success on line is to build a site that is niche-focused . The reason for this is that you will have less competition and it will be easier for targeted traffic to find you. Afterall your targeted traffic is the " heart and soul" of your business.

In the online world people use the net to get information and find solutions. It makes the yellow pages look like tiny post it notes in comparison.

Your first order of business is to write high value content rich pages that the search engines like. In doing this you get ranked higher on Google, Yahoo, etc. which makes it easier for your site to be found. Your ...

GUIDE TO FREE WEBSITE PROMOTION HELP  by

 Gage Killian
10/6/2008 at 12:33
Now, there is often a catch. Free Promotional tools and help often come with a price, even though they may not be monetary. Ebooks, Guides, plugins, scripts and so forth often have an underlying reason to be free. This is not to say that these kinds of help are illegitimate, they may be perfectly fine for anyone to use, however you want to first identify that reason to be safe.

Ultimately free website promotion help, whether in the form of some script or an ebook explaining website promotion strategies, are often used to "Brand" the person or website distributing it. This is a great way for someone to share their knowledge to a vast amount of people and in return get some recognition. Sometimes sharing an email address and first name is all it takes to get ahold of these free tools and for the most part, it is a great exchange in that you will continue to get free stuff from this person or website and a wealth of information.

Sometimes free to you does not mean free to a party on the "other side" of things. For an example, you may find a free wordpress plugin that automatically posts to your blogs. Now another party may have to pay to syndicate this kind of information, which would prove to be useful advertising for them. Free to you, but you have to deal with advertising.

Free website promotion help that can be bad is when you can’t identify the "WIIFM" or "Whats ...

I want you to take a hard look at yourself. Which one of the following are you?

2.Are you the type that uses the information and becomes financially independent?

All of the information and help are right in front of you to build a solid online business. Unfortunately many people start their business but never succeed. The only reason they don’t succeed is because they don’t follow through.

Make up your mind right now you will put in the time necessary and develop a monthly action plan. Once your plan is set up, work it. Here are ten things that should be in your action plan.

1.Start your keyword search for your market niche. You may have to go back and review this step; if so, get started. You need to have a minimum of ten keywords optimized on your site.

2.Start rewriting your website content for search engine optimization. This is a process that you will do often. This is not a task you will do only once and forget about it. Check every page.

3.One of the actions you should take every month is to check your competitors. Visit their websites and see what they are doing right. Also use compete.com and Google trends.

4.Take a serious look at your website design. Are you using the right colors? Can your buyers navigate easily? You are very familiar with finding information but is everyone? ...

MY SIMPLE PLAN TO GET TRAFFIC  by

 Rana Varun Pratap
3/23/2008 at 10:22
Before I start, I’d say, if you are looking for a magical method or top secret that’ll bring tons of traffic to your website. I highly recommend you to not read this. Building traffic is all about planning & strategising. I don’t like to give you a bunch of Hot air promises. What you’ll read here is derived from my own experience.

Building Traffic is about Planning.

One of the biggest mistake webmasters do is they forget to plan this little detail. They are giving site design, their logos and what not more preference over some basic planning of website traffic. If you are serious about this then here are few things you should do before you even start building a website.

1. Find out where your prospects gather.

2. Find out key influencers (people) in this group.

3. Find out what kind of tactics other webmasters are using to get attention of these groups.

4. Find out how you can differentiate yourself.

Now after you are done with this then, lets more on to our next important topic : keywords

Long Tail keywords

I always suggest people to gather at least 200 keywords for your market and only then build your websites. If you have already finished with your website and haven’t gathered 200 keywords. I suggest you to do so. Basically 200 keywords are like ammunition for your website which you use to generate traffic.

If you are creating blogs then, 200 keywords are like 200 article topics that you have to write for next 200 days. Don’t ...

DIRECTORY SUBMISSION FOR INITIAL BOOST  by

 Markus Skupeika
3/23/2008 at 10:21
To improve your search engine rank you need good quality incoming links from other websites. There is no exception to this rule.

It is a common saying that if you offer quality product, you will easily get natural links from other websites. However, this statement is not always true for online market. If you want people (webmasters) to link to your site, you need to prepare a talkable product (quality always matters but packaging is also important when you have a lot of competitors).

However at the initial stages people need to know about your website to link to it. You need to take the first step to inform others about your site. Even if you want to go for reciprocal or three way link building, you must have some page rank (Google PR) or good number of incoming links; otherwise, webmasters may not be interested in linking to your website.

In those initial days, the best way to generate some incoming links is directory submission. In fact, if you are attentive to the details, you can get some great quality one way links for free from niche directories. These links will definitely help you to get some page rank along with visitors. But you must remember that all directories may not be good for your site. You must skeptically select the best directories from millions of online directories.

When your website gains some page rank, you can contact other good websites for links. You will have a better foothold to bargain with other ...

TECHNIQUES IN LOGO DESIGN  by

 Charen Smith
3/23/2008 at 10:18
Your logo is a tangible representation of your identity and image. This means that whatever you decide to put on your logo - the colors, shapes, and even the lines - all of these should reflect the image you would want your target readers to remember you even for many years to come.

It represents your values, your beliefs and the traditions you have in your business. That’s why you put so much effort in coming up with the right logo especially with your full color business cards.

Here are a few ideas for your logo design that you can consider when you start creating your very own logo:

Refinement

This technique is more of a going-back-to-the-basics kind of thing. It reflects simplicity more than creativity when designing your logo. In fact, major corporations have gone back to this type of logo design that the classic trend that was so popular during the 70s is again one of the hits today.

The technique is based on the basic geometric lines with a little visual twist. Especially with the advent of the computers and digital technology, the 70s natural geometric lines is definitely here to stay.

Droplets

This technique applies two or more droplets, making them appear that they’re coming together to act as one entity. It is usually reflective of a union and meeting of ideas, which is very expressive especially if you’re looking at a more technical and scientific design. Often, this logo design have flat shapes, while some have highlights or shadows that provides the ...
