Professional Website Promotion Made Easy

by  Stephanie Tanner 3/22/2011

A variety of methods can increase the prominence of a webpage using online or offline professional advertising skills. Don’t think that you are limited to the internet for professional website promotion. You can actually advertise your website anywhere you like, if you are unsure about what this means, here are a few pointers for offline promotions:

1. The local radio is always a good promotional tactic because people listen to their favorite radio station throughout the whole day either in the car or on their lunch or even at work itself. Radio advertising is strongly recommended in offline website promotion. Radio promotion can be used online as well so it’s like a double for the price of a single if you like.

2. If you drive then why not have some professional website bumper stickers made to stick on your own car, and to hand out to the general public mention the word free and people will take one.

3. You should advertise in the local news papers or have some flyers made and pin them to every notice board that you find, hand them out in the busiest areas, the options are endless with flyers.

4. You can even go as far as using billboards and bus stops; the list goes on and on.

There are no limitations when advertising your website off the internet if money is not an issue, then let the professionals do their job and get you noticed. The same rules apply with online professional advertising there are no boundaries ...

Is Site Promotion Worth Your Time? Why and Why Not

by  Rebecca Emrich 3/22/2011

For many people the concept of site promotion is something that they take to an extreme. They overly promote their websites and blogs to the point of being an annoyance to the Internet community at large. Then there are other people who wonder this question all to often:

Is site promotion actually worth my time?

In some cases: No it is not worth your time. For some websites, they rely on word of mouth to get you to visit their website. Or, the website itself is brand new, and has yet to develop.

Here is a list of reasons to avoid site promotion:

1) You site is new, and does not have a lot of content on it, especially if it is a blog. "A lot of content" is defined as more than 40 original content blog posts.

2) You are unsure exactly what to promote on your website.

3) You are doing it because someone said you should do this. This is possibly one of the worst reasons to promote your website, as many are doing the same thing, and not understanding how, or when, or why they should promote.

4) You are planning to use marketing sites such as Google AdWords, and you are not sure if you will make back your money.

5) You are not yet into learning about keywords, linking, traffic building, SEO, or anything that is needed to properly promote your site.

6) Your are writing a website purely as a hobby.

If these reasons do not apply to your website or your blog, ...

Five Points About Website Promotion

by  Rebecca Emrich 12/26/2010

When you promote your website and your blogs, there is one thing you need to avoid: that is people not caring for your work. This is an important fact about the online business world. You can promote your work all you like but if your quality is lacking you will have a problem. This is a business and in the end, people who take the shortcuts will always lose out.

Below is a list of five ways to improve your website or blog and also promote your site to the Internet without losing quality or traffic. The most important thing to remember is that content is a must, and it should be unique and useful to others.

1) Links are important, but have something there before you being the linking process: Everyone is talking about the content of a website or the content or a blog. This is a very important step. Your content must be unique and of quality. This needs to be done before you begin even thinking about site-promotion. If you want your site-promoted beyond your own efforts, you need as much unique content as you can get. Then, and only then, should you begin a linking strategy.

2) Search Engines are important, and they take a dim view of content that is copied: Copyrights are still of value and a lot of new website owners make the mistake of thinking that if they write a bit of their own content and then copy and paste others content (even linking ...

7 Ways To Bring People To Your Small Business Website

by  C. L. Reese 12/26/2010

Do you need traffic to your website or blog?

As a small business owner, I am sure you have quickly found out that you need more than just a website. So how do you get traffic to your site?

Of course the ultimate way to generate a ton of free traffic is using keywords and search engine optimization (SEO) for your site.

But for now I’m only going to talk about those strategies that can be done by just about anyone, without having to know any SEO.

Fast Traffic Number # 1- Pay Per Click Ads. Google, Facebook and other online search engines and social networks offer what is called pay per click ads. If you been to any search engine, you will have noticed all those small classified ads that on the immediate right side.

These are pay per click ads. They are called that because each time that someone clicks on a link in the ad, the advertiser pays a preset fee (anywhere from a just few cents per click to double-digits!)

Fast Traffic Number #2 - The next fastest way to drive traffic to your site is with the use of online press releases. While not as expensive as a per click ad campaign, a long run of online press releases can become expensive over time.

Fast Traffic Number # 3 - Next on the list is the participating inside online communities or forums. If you are small business person who enjoys helping others, forum marketing is a great way for you to build ...

It’s Not About the Website

by  Nicholas Bielawski 12/26/2010

One of the biggest problems I see with business owners and their websites is that they are worried about the wrong things. Business owners worry about the graphics on the page and the color of the background and the font size...all these things have little to no impact on the end result. Leads, conversions and sales.

To further explain this I like to use the philosophical riddle "If a trees falls in the forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound? You see the best, most professional looking website won’t make any sales if it is positioned incorrectly and there is no one to view the offer you are making. Websites need to be viewed as part of a much broader lead generation strategy. Firstly, you need to decide what is the aim of the website. Is it to generate leads? Is it to directly sell or book a product or service? Is it merely to showcase, an online brochure of what you offer?

Most websites are positioned as an online brochure that looks ok but totally under performs as a lead generation or selling tool. I see these brochure websites being built from the cheap and nasty $500 sites all the way up to a $30,000 flash design site. These websites both tend to finish the same: as cyber space dust collectors. Any website will fail if it misses one thing- traffic.

Even a poorly designed site in terms of layout and appearance will outperform a ...

Build Passive Income or Lead Generation With Your Marketing Funnel

by  Seth Czerepak 11/19/2010

There’s a lot of Talk about how important a marketing funnel is for attracting paying customers for your business and building passive income. However, I’ve been finding that there’s a lack of detailed information on how to actually build a good marketing funnel. I tried a lot of the advice out there and a lot of it was either too vague or just didn’t produce results. In this article, I’ll be showing you what I finally found produces results, and it’s an approach which I’ve seen work across multiple niches...

The Basic Marketing Funnel Philosophy

To build a marketing funnel, you need to think like this: "How can I take a person from the stage of having NEVER heard of my company before to being a loyal promoter, while at the same time creating options for every other customer in between?" Most people make the mistake of focusing only on the first part of this statement, which produces minimal results, like working 60 or 70 hours a week and making only three or four thousand a month.

A "marketing funnel" which aims only to take someone from prospect to buying customer isn’t a marketing funnel; it’s a hamster wheel that traps you into working for yourself, but still working a JOB (Just Over Broke). Let’s look at an example of a marketing funnel which can free you to be a business owner instead of an employee of your business:

The Basic Marketing Funnel Architecture

Step One: Visitor comes to your site

Step Two: Visitor submits their ...

Getting Excellent Results by Optimizing Your Backlinks

by  Jim A Zimmermann 11/19/2010

Anyone who wants their site to achieve a high ranking in the SERPs will have to rely on the standard backlink building process. If you are going about it the wrong way, though, all your efforts will prove fruitless. To ensure that your site receives credit for the links and that the search engines actually notice them you need to optimize them properly. The following article will provide three effective tips that will assist you in optimizing your links so you can get the best results.

When someone links to your site, you need to ensure that the link isn’t in JavaScript because search engines ignore these links. Finding these links isn’t easy which means you will have to check the source code of the page where your link is to find out. You need to ensure that your link appears in the right place and in the right format as well.

You also want to avoid redirect scripts, so check that your links connect directly to your site. This is because you want to make sure that people reach your site when they click on the link and not any others. Besides that, stay away from building backlinks from flash sites because Google and the other search engines don’t spider these pages. If you truly want to obtain links from a flash site, then ensure that it also features an HTML page that the search engines can index and rank. It is very important that you go about link building correctly ...

10 Tips On Optimising Your Google Places Business Listing

by  Mark John Watts 9/19/2010

Claiming your Google Place Page listing is imperative no matter whether you run an online or offline business.

Google Places, formerly known as Google Maps, is a fantastic way of maintaining a presence online particularly if you’re a bricks and mortar business without a website. It can provide potential customers, who are more than likely looking for a local service, with valuable and specific information about your exact location, opening hours, photographs, videos, your services and customer reviews. It also allows you to offer customers extra incentives to use your business in the form of coupons.

The process of claiming your Google Places listing is very straightforward. Simply open a Google account and once you have done this and logged-in you need to go to Business Solutions. Under the section ’Reach New Customers’ you will see a link for Google Places. Clicking on the link will take you to the section where you can claim your business listing.

Many businesses have claimed their Google Places listing but have not made full use of it and as a result it will be of little value. Simply entering the business name, address, telephone number and choosing one type of business category is not sufficient.

Many local searches on Google will now return a first page of results that includes a Google Map together with a list of up to 7 businesses that Google sees as matching the search query. So, for example, if a potential customer searches for ’Plumber in Manchester’ Google will return results including ...
