10 Tips to Improve Gas Mileage and Save Money
by Steve L Wilson 7/24/2009
1. Keep Your Car Well Tuned
One of the best things that you can do to improve fuel economy is to keep your car well tuned and running in the best condition that it possibly can. This means making sure to conduct the regular scheduled maintenance that many drivers often ignore. Studies have shown that a car that is poorly tuned will consume 10 to 20 percent more gas than a well tuned vehicle. Ensuring that your car is well tuned and that there are no emission problems can improve gas mileage by up to 4.1 percent
2. Replace Your Air and Fuel Filter
Recent studies suggest that by simply replacing both the air filter and fuel filter in your car on a regular basis can significantly improve the gas mileage by up to 10 percent. Improving fuel economy by 10 percent translates in a gas saving of 10 to 15 cent per gallon at the pump. Next time you take your car into the garage, get your mechanic to replace the air and fuel filters.
3. Maintain Proper Tire Pressure
Not only is it important to maintain the engine of your car,you should also be ... add comment [ comments 0 ]
Save Gas & Save Money
by Alex Hawk 7/24/2009
Everyone wants to reduce the amount of money they are spending on fuel, but the key to cutting the amount of money you are spending, is to reduce the amount of gas you use. If you save gas, youll save money.
Sure, a car that gets good gas mileage will save you money on fuel, but another way to save money is to actually save gas. If you think about it, if you were to reduce your fuel consumption by 10 gallons every week, you will be saving about $40 a week on gas, over a month, that ends up being $160 in savings. Its easy to see how if you save gas, you end up saving a great deal of money over the long term.
There really are many ways in which you can save gas, and one of those ways is to combine trips so that you do not have to make as many trips. Though this may seem obvious, combining trips isnt done nearly as much as it could be. You save gas when you combine trips because although you are starting and stopping more, your engine is already warmed up so it uses less fuel. You can plan your trip so that you are driving the fewest miles possible. In other words, instead of passing the store on your way home from picking up the kids, you can stop then, instead of making a trip back later to buy bread and milk.
Another thing you can do to save ... add comment [ comments 0 ]

If you take a car to town, dont drive around the roads. Park in the first parking spot you see and walk. Your heart will thank you and your wallet will too!
3) Carpool. Carpools are a great way for you and your friends and co-workers to save on gas money. Youll end up splitting the cost of the daily gallon. If youve got friends or office friends who live nearby, why not start a carpool in your neighborhood?
4) Try becoming a one-car family. If you own more than one car, why not just use one whenever possible? Its more convenient to have two or three cars, but gas-wise, thats murder. Using one car for the meantime can dramatically save you a lot of gas money that can go to ... add comment [ comments 0 ]
Saving Gas By Using HHO - How HHO Saves Gas
by Brandon Mchale 5/24/2008
HHO saves gasoline by assisting combustion.
HHO stands for hybrid hydrogen oxygen. This proven technology has been around since the late 1950s and has had different applications. You can find schematics from torches to tractors. All of the applications are the same in the way that they use HHO to assist combustion. HHO is not a stand alone fuel source, it simply increases the efficiency of the combustion cycle. Put it this way " HHO gives you more bang for your buck! "
Stop paying for unused fuel
Current engines gasoline and diesel have unused fuel in the combustion cycle. Matter of fact the catalytic converter (1975) was introduced to act as a catalyst and improve emissions. Part of the emissions the catalytic converter converts is unused fuel. So whats the big deal? Well, if you use HHO not only do you increase the efficiency of the combustion cycle, giving you more bang for your buck, you also do part of the catalytic converters job. So the big deal is, you increase horsepower emit cleaner emissions and gain miles per gallon, because you used the fuel more efficiently.
Remove carbon and increase your engines life
HHO has a side effect of removing carbon. The removal of carbon will decrease heat buildup increase efficiency and lead to less engine wear. Engine heat is a factor that leads to engine wear. Oil is used to assist this and lubricate the moving parts. Remove the carbon and you get less friction, less friction leads to less heat and ... add comment [ comments 0 ]
Get The Best Gas Car Mileage
by Frank L Froggatt 4/17/2008
There is a lot of hype out there about new fuel sources like ethanol. But what good has that done for the consumer. None I dont think. They make ethanol out of corn and now the price of corn and grains has gone through the roof. Good for the farmers I suppose, but it hasnt lowered our fuel prices. It just made the price of food go up as well as fuel. They got us at the pumps as well as the stores.
Fortunately there is a sound alternative to get the best gas car mileage possible. New research has developed a simple to install system for your car, truck, boat, diesel truck, or whatever you may drive. This system allows you to run your vehicle on water. Yes water. It can quickly turn your vehicle into a gas water hybrid and easily double your gas ... add comment [ comments 0 ]
Gas Mileage Improvement - What Really Works?
by Chuck Brown 4/17/2008
Now that gas is almost four dollars a gallon, improving gas mileage is becoming a necessity. Its becoming too expensive to take long trips in a gas guzzler, such as a SUV. However, our wallets are getting drained just driving back and forth to work as well!
And when gas prices go up, the economy takes a hit because people have less disposable income; we stay home more, and that means a loss for the travel industry and hotels. And its likely that gas prices will not come down. Despite the depressing reality on fuel prices, there are things you can do to save yourself big bucks in the long run.
Since staying home from work is not an option for most people, carpooling is the first tactic that comes to mind. Also, mass transit solutions such as subways and buses. You could also ride a bike to work, but that is not always possible or reasonable for everyone. Still, its a good option for some and a great way to stay in shape.
But if you have to drive your own car, you can keep your engine in top shape, and make sure all filters are clean and clear, but the difference is not going to add up to much savings. Some people suggest that turning off the air conditioning and rolling down the windows will help with gas mileage improvement, but some think that having the windows down creates more wind resistance, nullifying the air conditioner savings.

Improve Your Gas Mileage With A Water Fuel Cell
by Adam Hefner 4/17/2008
Scientists have talked a lot about improving fuel economy by increasing engine efficiency. They have published studies focusing on ethanol and hydrogen power. Neither of these alternatives is cost-effective, however, and the hydrogen power discussed actually causes increased air pollution.
Functional hydrogen power is actually available right now, and being used by an increasing number of people. Whats more, this power is extremely inexpensive, and the only byproduct of this fuel is water. The technological miracle responsible for this is the fuel water cell.
A fuel water cell is a quart-sized container that is installed under the hood of a vehicle. This device is filled with water, as well as a little bit of baking soda. One end of the device is attached to the engines exhaust, and is responsible for pumping spent fuel into the water cell.
The other end of this device is connected to the engines carburetor, or the intake manifold. A wire from the vehicles battery conducts a low-amp electrical current into the water. This current causes the baking soda to help the water split into hydrogen and water.
The hydrogen forms a gas, which is driven back into the intake manifold with the ... add comment [ comments 0 ]
Gas-Saving Smart Car Debuts in the United States
by Shad Connelly 3/23/2008
In a time when gas prices have eclipsed the $3 mark and continue to climb, fuel-efficient vehicles have seen their stocks rise. With U.S. consumers finally moving away from gas-guzzling trucks and SUVs, smart, a division of Mercedes Benz, has decided to debut the smart fortwo - a two-person car that measures only 8.8 feet long - in the United States.
The smart fortwo is the shortest car on the market and the company claims you could fit two of them in a single parking space. The vehicles innovative design even earned it exhibit space in the Museum of Modern Art in New York City - one of only six cars ever to bear that distinction. With over 770,000 fortwos already on the road worldwide, smart is now ready to introduce this much-buzzed-about car to the U.S. market. The company has opened up an online smart fortwo Reservation Program, allowing interested buyers to reserve their choice of model and color for a $99 fee (applied to the eventual purchase of a fortwo or refundable at any time). Once smart finalizes its dealership locations in the U.S. (expected to be announced at the end of January), dealers will begin calling reservation holders to formalize their purchase agreements.
Three different models of the smart fortwo will be available in the U.S.: the entry-level pure (starting at $11,590), the well-equipped passion coupe (starting at $13,590) and the convertible passion cabriolet (starting at $16,590). All of the models come with a 3-cylinder, 1-liter gasoline powered engine ... add comment [ comments 0 ]

Exploring the Ins and Outs of Gasoline
by Fei Lim 3/23/2008
As the prices of gas continues to rise in the 21st century, motorists are yearning for the days when the substance that powered their cars cost less than $1 or even closer to $2. The demand for this influential resource has been outweighing the supply long before war broke out in the Middle East. The constant consumption of regular, leaded, unleaded, and now diesel fuel has placed a huge strain on reserves, which has caused prices to reach new heights.
The elevated cost of gasoline has greatly impacted the United States, as well as the rest of the world. The current energy crisis has forced scientists to seek out innovative ways of supplying energy and has encouraged consumers to find other methods of preserving fuel, such as riding a bicycle to work or purchasing electric cars.
In the future, the use of gas alternatives may gain more attention, especially since the following methods are less damaging to the environment: biodiesel, biobutanol, hydrogen fuel, ethanol, and bioethanol.
Taking a Brief Look at Gas Prices
In September 2003, the price of standard crude oil was less than $25 per barrel and with the help of inflation adjustments - it remained below the mark since the middle of the 1980s. However, a chain of events over the past couple of years has caused the price to increase to more than $60 in August 2005 and exceed the $75-mark by the summer of 2006. In October 2007, a barrel of crude oil was $92. The start of 2008 ... add comment [ comments 0 ]
Save Money on Fuel and Gas - Use Water Hybrid Tech
by Raphael Modo 1/15/2008
I was lucky to come across old Popular Science and Popular Mechanic magazines. I read every word with thirst. In the classifieds I found intriguing ads for "free energy" books and plans that sparked my imagination. I ordered some books and the information I found in them was hard to believe - Official US Patents showing clear, easy to follow technologies to generate what seemed feasible free energy to the inventor AND to the US government, through its Patent Office!
One thing was not clear though. How come these inventions lie there in dust and nobodys DOING anything about them? In the big, rich and powerful America?! It took me many years of research to fully realize that there are people who want these technologies suppressed for as long as they possibly can. For profit of course.
It was not hard to figure out that if it took me so much research to get to this information and this understanding, then it follows that the average dude has little chance of finding out. Hes being lied to constantly and massively. My father made sure to teach me all about how impossible free energy was. He kept mentioning extracting energy from water. I kept this at the back of my mind and, as Agatha Christies Hercule Poirot always says, waited for some truth to present itself.
In 2006 it came to me in the shape of a funny little jar that somebody installed in my truck. He said it would generate energy out of ... add comment [ comments 0 ]

Save Fuel - Resolve Problem Of High Vehicle Fuel Costs
by Azhar Victor 1/15/2008
The pressure is on for individuals as well as nations. All indications are that there is or are going to be further crude oil price increases. It is imminent. With that, there will be price increases in almost all other services and products as so many of them are in one way or the other dependent on crude oil and its derivatives.Of greatest concern is its effect on essential items. In this category, increase in vehicle fuel is going to further hit those who have been further hit and have long suffered the consequences. In particular, vehicle owners everywhere, with the exception perhaps of those in the oil rich countries, need immediate relief. Is any solution in sight? To be sure, many individuals, groups, corporations and nations around the globe would have committed huge resources in time and money towards resolving the problem or alleviating the situation. Marginal fixes like using the vehicle less, optimum gear shifting, filling up at off peak periods, correct tyre pressure and so on, do not have the desired and significant effect. Of greater interest for vehicle owners, would be, hybrid cars, more fuel efficient engines, fuel saving devices and the like. Off course there is the option, given a choice, to downgrade capacity in terms of engines and the car itself. But there is the question of costs. In our research, we have found that fuel saving devices compare very favorably as against the other options. Then again, there are individual preferences and circumstances, that need ... add comment [ comments 0 ]
Engine Protection Can Save Gas and Help the Environment
by Chris Robertson 1/15/2008
Today, everyone is feeling the pinch at the pump. Gasoline prices have gone through the roof, and there is little relief in sight. Although some people are able to drive less in order to save gas, and others are able to trade in their vehicles for more fuel efficient models, many of us must drive in order to get to work and arent in a position to get a new car.
The Source of the Problem
While there are fuel additives on the market that promise to extend gas mileage, the recurring cost of those additives means that they dont result in significant savings. To really save gas, we need to take a step back, look at internal combustion engines, and examine ways we can make improvements at the source of the problem.
Whats the problem? Car engines are inherently inefficient. In fact, the U.S. Department of Energy has found that only about 15 percent of the energy in gas is actually used to power our cars. Much of the rest of the energy is expended by the engine and drive trains moving parts. Oil acts as a lubricant for some of the moving parts, but its insufficient to increase MPG, or miles per gallon, of fuel.
Solutions from Science
One of the best solutions comes from metal technology, in the form of a dry lubricant that coats vehicles moving parts in order to reduce friction. Once friction has been reduced, a greater percentage of the cars gas is used to move the car down ... add comment [ comments 0 ]
