The Importance of Fuel Efficiency

by  Jo Da Silva 9/25/2010

The words fuel and efficiency are on the tip of almost everyone’s tongue when talking about modern day motoring. Being fuel efficient is something that the modern motorist has become more concerned about and more and more people are buying new super efficient cars and learning how to drive in the most efficient way to conserve fuel. Even the A-list in Hollywood have started to care more about this hot topic and as a result a swarm of celebrities have traded in their fancy Audi R8s and Ferraris for the highly efficient Toyota Prius’. But why has the world suddenly started to care about being fuel efficient and why is it so important?

The main reason for the majority of people is simple; in fact it is the main reason for change in so many situations, its money. As the global economy crashes and the amount of natural resourses in the world dwindle the price of petrol increases. Where it once cost £20 to fill the tank on a VW golf it now costs £40, so obviously motorists want to get their money’s worth. Not only can money be saved by purchasing less petrol less regularly, but many governments are now offering reductions in tax if you own a fuel efficient car.

The other reason is because of the environmental damage that exhaust fumes cause. The less fuel a car uses the less exhaust fumes are created and therefore a decreased amount of greenhouse gases are created.

Hybrid Cars - Fuel Efficient Cars

by  Sheeba Joseph 9/25/2010

Nowadays we always hear of all things initiating with automobiles getting environment friendly. Hybrid Car is a type of car which runs on the alternative source of energy and gasoline. It is a combination of two types of engines working together namely a standard gas powered engine and an electric motor supported by the rechargeable nickel-metal hydride battery which is charged with electricity.

A perfect solution to the problems like deteriorating environmental conditions and rising oil prices. The increase in consumption of fossil fuels has resulted in the depletion of these reserves on earth. Thus, using hybrid vehicle would at least cut down the consumption to a large extent.

The future hybrid cars are mostly concentrating on the development of the engine and trying to increase its horsepower up to the maximum level. The future models are carefully designed as per the modern requirements.

They are mostly trying to develop the vehicles which are more fuel efficient, powerful, stylish, and better than the conventional sports cars. The models of these cars are remodeled and structured many times before finalizing the structure of the models.

The future hybrid cars once completed, it would be very difficult to select the best variety. It would also lead to an emergence of a new concept i.e. the car racing which is still at a very primitive stage in terms of hybrid cars.

There are various options available online such as Hybrid sports car reviews and mileage counter which can be utilized for selecting the best sports car. Apart from ...

Hydrogen Gas Savers - How Much Can You Save?

by  Cecilia Montrose 9/25/2010

It can be hard to know what to believe at times, but the phrase "don’t believe everything you read" wasn’t invented just for fun. This becomes even harder on the internet, as you can’t be sure of the credentials of the person who wrote any particular page unless it is from a very trustworthy source (e.g., the American Medical Association in the case of medical information). While researching this article, I found a lot of contradictory information, and some that was just plain false. I hope to provide as fair a treatment of the subject of what actual savings you can achieve with a gas saver as we can reasonably strive for.

The Cost of Installing a Gas Saver

There is unfortunately no firm price for installing a gas saver. If you search Google for prices, you will find prices ranging from about $30 to over $200 and things get even more uncertain if you choose to build your own hydrogen generator. In either case, keep in mind the principle of return on investment, as you have no right to expect a bargain model to deliver the same performance as a high-quality model which may be more expensive.

Fuel Efficiency Gains with a Hydrogen Gas Saver

To avoid confusing you, we will keep our discussion of technical details to a minimum. In general, there are two competing forces which determine how great your savings are (or even if you achieve any savings), which are the energy cost of powering the separator using power from ...

You save gas when you combine trips because although you are starting and stopping more, your engine is already warmed up so it uses less fuel. You can plan your trip so that you are driving the fewest miles possible. In other words, instead of passing the store on your way home from picking up the kids, you can stop then, instead of making a trip back later to buy bread and milk.

Another thing you can do to save ...

Saving Gas By Using HHO - How HHO Saves Gas

by  Brandon Mchale 5/24/2008

HHO saves gasoline by assisting combustion.

HHO stands for hybrid hydrogen oxygen. This proven technology has been around since the late 1950’s and has had different applications. You can find schematics from torches to tractors. All of the applications are the same in the way that they use HHO to assist combustion. HHO is not a stand alone fuel source, it simply increases the efficiency of the combustion cycle. Put it this way " HHO gives you more bang for your buck! "

Stop paying for unused fuel

Current engines gasoline and diesel have unused fuel in the combustion cycle. Matter of fact the catalytic converter (1975) was introduced to act as a catalyst and improve emissions. Part of the emissions the catalytic converter converts is unused fuel. So what’s the big deal? Well, if you use HHO not only do you increase the efficiency of the combustion cycle, giving you more bang for your buck, you also do part of the catalytic converters job. So the big deal is, you increase horsepower emit cleaner emissions and gain miles per gallon, because you used the fuel more efficiently.

Remove carbon and increase your engines life

HHO has a side effect of removing carbon. The removal of carbon will decrease heat buildup increase efficiency and lead to less engine wear. Engine heat is a factor that leads to engine wear. Oil is used to assist this and lubricate the moving parts. Remove the carbon and you get less friction, less friction leads to less heat and ...

by  Frank L Froggatt 4/17/2008

Todays world is getting more and more costly to live in. With the price of gas rising everyday it is important that we get the best gas car mileage possible. Sometimes we wonder if we’ll be able to afford to get to work because of the price increases .Getting the best gas car mileage possible is a very important in our daily lives. Sometimes we have to make decisions on whether to buy gas or food. I know I’m not the only one to have been put in that position. Let’s face it our economy is in decline and prices for necessities are through the roof.

There is a lot of hype out there about new fuel sources like ethanol. But what good has that done for the consumer. None I don’t think. They make ethanol out of corn and now the price of corn and grains has gone through the roof. Good for the farmers I suppose, but it hasn’t lowered our fuel prices. It just made the price of food go up as well as fuel. They got us at the pumps as well as the stores.

Fortunately there is a sound alternative to get the best gas car mileage possible. New research has developed a simple to install system for your car, truck, boat, diesel truck, or whatever you may drive. This system allows you to run your vehicle on water. Yes water. It can quickly turn your vehicle into a gas water hybrid and easily double your gas ...

Gas Mileage Improvement - What Really Works?

by  Chuck Brown 4/17/2008

Now that gas is almost four dollars a gallon, improving gas mileage is becoming a necessity. It’s becoming too expensive to take long trips in a gas guzzler, such as a SUV. However, our wallets are getting drained just driving back and forth to work as well!

And when gas prices go up, the economy takes a hit because people have less disposable income; we stay home more, and that means a loss for the travel industry and hotels. And it’s likely that gas prices will not come down. Despite the depressing reality on fuel prices, there are things you can do to save yourself big bucks in the long run.

Since staying home from work is not an option for most people, carpooling is the first tactic that comes to mind. Also, mass transit solutions such as subways and buses. You could also ride a bike to work, but that is not always possible or reasonable for everyone. Still, it’s a good option for some and a great way to stay in shape.

But if you have to drive your own car, you can keep your engine in top shape, and make sure all filters are clean and clear, but the difference is not going to add up to much savings. Some people suggest that turning off the air conditioning and rolling down the windows will help with gas mileage improvement, but some think that having the windows down creates more wind resistance, nullifying the air conditioner savings.

Driving 60 or 65 max ...
