BOTOX IS ABSOLUTELY SAFE FOR COSMETIC USE  by

 A Aaronson
9/21/2008 at 12:57
You’ve probably have heard horror stories of women stepping out of the cosmetic surgeon’s office with a "frozen" expression or a face that resembles plastic more than flesh, but these instances are often blown out of proportion and over-emphasized by the media.

It’s easy to point out a rare case of Botox done improperly or causing complications, but in reality, the vast majorities of patients who undergo the procedure have no recovery problems and look quite natural. You don’t hear of excellent Botox not only because it doesn’t make for entertaining news, but because when done correctly, no one will be able to tell that you had anything done.

The medical risks and complications associated with Botox are few and generally mild. The most common risk is a slight swelling, bruising, and redness of the injection site, which usually dissipates within a few days. Allergic reactions occur in rare cases, resulting in either mild pain at the treated area or nausea that can develop further into symptoms similar to flu. Hemorrhaging is exceedingly rare, but those with certain disorders should take caution.

The biggest mistake that people make when choosing to undergo Botox is not picking a board-certified plastic surgeon who is experienced with the procedure. Choosing an unqualified or unskilled surgeon can result in the dreaded expressionless, unnatural appearance that so many people fear. Or worse-the unsightly, drooping eye effect.

Drooping eyelids is a complication that results from too much Botox being injected into the crow’s feet around the corners of the eyes. ...

HOME CARE FOR YOUR GROWING HAIR  by

 Robert Grazian
9/21/2008 at 12:57
There is no sure fire way of preventing hair loss and promoting hair growth. But there are remedies than you can make at your own home that has helped other people. These are not medications that were researched by scientists and chemists, but they are homemade hair growth treatments that are not proven to work; but definitely worth a try.

A popular homemade hair growth treatment is the rosemary rinse. Rosemary is known as a hair growth stimulant. Boil two cups of water, put in ¼ cup of dried rosemary and let it sit until tepid. Then rinse your hair with this concoction and this will treat thinning hair and eliminate dandruff.

Massage and aromatherapy are also said to be effective homemade hair growth treatments. Massage your scalp to stimulate hair to grow. Blend six drops of bay essential and lavender oils in four ounces of sesame or almond oil. Allow to sit for half an hour and wash with regular shampoo and rinse. Also an added tip is to put 3 drops of the essential oil to your shampoo to promote aromatherapy.

Sage and rosemary tea colorant is another version of the popular homemade hair growth treatment. For effective color treatment, mix ¼ cup for rosemary and ¼ cup sage and steep in a cup of hot water for ten minutes. To cover gray hair or to darken brown hair, strain the mixture and use the mixture to color hair. The sage can soften your hair and the rosemary can stimulate hair ...

HONEY FOR YOUR HAIR  by

 Robert Grazian

Who would have ever thought of using honey for hair growth? But really, this liquid heaven is not just delicious to your taste buds; it is also from your head to your toe. It is as they call it, an all natural beauty treatment. Because honey is easy to access, there are also a lot of recipes that one can choose from to use for hair growth treatment.

Rosemary honey hair conditioner
We experience hot and cold throughout the year and the extreme changes in weather can make our hair look like straw. Using honey for hair growth nourishes the hair; with a blend of olive oil for moisture, rosemary for hair growth and honey for shine. Ingredients: You’ll need, ¼ cup olive oil (warmed), 4 drops essential rosemary oil, ½ cup honey, I tsp. Xanthum gum and of course, ½ cup of honey. Directions: Mix thoroughly all ingredients and pour in a shampoo container. Apply to damp hair and massage scalp thoroughly. Make sure that the mixture works through your hair completely. Cover with warm towel and leave for 30 minutes. Remove towel, shampoo lightly with regular shampoo and rinse.

Honey and cinnamon hair treatment is a popular way of using honey for hair growth. Honey and cinnamon can be used as a hair growth treatment. There are people who guarantee the effectiveness of this concoction but I doubt if they have evidence of research to support whatever effectiveness they are claiming. Ingredients: warmed olive oil, honey and a teaspoon of cinnamon. ...

FOOD FOR THE HAIR  by

 Robert Grazian

What a sweet thought; feeding your hair vitamins and minerals to help it grow. But it is true; there are foods that are reported to be the best food to eat for healthy hair growth. They claim that the right food can help your hair grow into a long and shiny waterfall of hair. But their claims are just that, claims with no evidence; still, people perceive it as possible because of the number of testimonials some food get.

There are a lot of theories about this and people have different ideas on the best food to eat for healthy hair growth. They are all good for your hair and especially for your scalp; I guess people just use whatever is on season and whatever is abundant in their area. Maybe that is why there are so many versions of the list of best food to eat for healthy hair growth.

Foods with iodine is the best food to eat for healthy hair growth, it helps in the production of thyroxin (thyroid hormones). This hormone can promote hair growth. Seafood contains iodine, so eat a lot of mussels, cod, haddock and seaweed. Substitute regular salt or sea salt with iodized salt. It tastes the same but the latter is better for your health.

Foods with beta carotene is said to help in healthy hair growth. It is actually converted into vitamin A by the body and vitamin A makes the hair go strong. So for a healthy strong hair, eat a lot of ...

GETTING RID OF BAGS UNDER THE EYES FOR GOOD  by

 Samantha Jackson
9/21/2008 at 12:54
Do you have bags under the eyes? If so, you’re not alone! This condition affects people of all ages, including teenagers all the way up to the elderly. No matter how old you are, it’s certain that you ’d do almost anything to get rid of them.

If you’re like most people then you might have tried all the standard home treatments like putting cucumber on your eyelids. This treatment actually works because of the cold cucumber, rather than anything specific about the vegetable.

While you certainly can see results from home treatments like that you can find much better options in a commercial product. The trouble is that there are so many options! Sadly, some of these options will not give you the results you want.

Having bags under the eyes requires you to use something with anti-inflammatory properties. One tip is to use Preparation-H on the area. It actually does work in a quick pinch. So, if you have a special engagement you can always do that in a pinch. Be careful to make sure none of the cream gets in your eyes.

Though something like Preparation-H can work it’s generally best to stick with a product that was actually created specifically for the eye area. This will help to ensure your eyes don’t get irritated and you’ll know that the product is effective.

So, how do you find a product for bags under your eyes that will really work? One of the best things you can do is read magazines and watch ...

COLD LASER TECHNOLOGY - HOW A LOW LEVEL LASER PROMOTES HEALING  by

 Chris Robertson
3/11/2008 at 18:08
When you hear the word, "laser," what do you think of? Maybe the first thing that comes to mind is laser eye surgery, or perhaps you think about laser printers. It could be that laser-guided missiles pop into mind, or maybe you picture a laser pointer or a barcode scanner. What you might not know is that cold laser technology has produced a powerful yet benign instrument that can promote healing and wellness.

How a Cold Laser Works

A low level laser, sometimes known as a soft laser, is often used in cell regeneration. Essentially, the approach in this type of laser therapy comes from an understanding that every cell in the body has a "memory" of sorts. This memory comes from the cells’ polarity. Oftentimes, this polarity prevents the body from being able to regenerate or heal itself. When a healing laser is utilized, however, the cells release their charge and, thus, their memory. Once the cells have neutral energy, the cold laser donates energy to help them rejuvenate.

Systems and Conditions that Benefit

Soft laser therapy can help with a variety of conditions. For example, many people find it useful for pain relief - either acute or chronic - as well as for injuries, weight loss, and smoking cessation. Many others use a healing laser for detoxification, and for reversing the effects of adrenaline, which is known to contribute to pain, stress, diabetes, and aging. A cold laser can also be used for nerve regeneration, organ balancing, and lymph activation. Massage therapists ...

BREAST TISSUE EXPANDER - WHAT IS IT AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?  by

 Dr. Jim Greene
3/11/2008 at 18:07
A tissue expander is very similar to a breast implant; it is a silicone balloon that is slowly filled with a saline solution over a period of several weeks. A breast tissue expander is implanted into a woman’s chest under her chest muscles as the first step in her breast reconstruction.

It will be placed into a woman’s body generally under her chest muscles. It will have a valve either built into it or attached to it by an inflation tube; a syringe is placed into this tube and then it is gradually filled over a period of several weeks. This gentle and slow inflation of the expander will allow new skin and muscle tissue to grow allowing room for the insertion of a permanent breast implant under the chest muscles to reconstruct the breast.

Some women have it placed on top of the chest muscles, this will only allow for the expansion of the skin as is generally only suitable for women with small breasts or women who have had both breasts removed and will be happy to have small breasts after the reconstruction. If a woman has larger breasts it will need to be placed under the chest muscle to allow a larger implant that will match her existing breast size to be implanted.

It is used as the augmented tissue will have all of the characteristics of the surrounding tissue. Simply stretching the skin would result in the skin thinning and not being as elastic; it can also alter the ...

ARE TANNING BEDS WORTH THE RISK?  by

 Mike Selvon
3/11/2008 at 18:06
You probably have heard quite a lot about tanning beds in health news due to their link with skin cancer, but did you also know there are other problems that can occur from the use of sun tanning beds? Skin cancer is a huge issue and it does sway a lot of people away from using a tanning bed to achieve that glowing skin, however some people are not catching on, especially teenagers. Using artificial sunlight can be just as dangerous as beach tanning all day without wearing sun screen.

A tanning bed works by using special lamps that give off ultra violet rays just as the sun does naturally. It essentially damages the skin cells so that they switch their pigmentation.

The effect is only temporary, as is any tan, because the body naturally sheds off dead skin cells. These people must continually go back to the tanning salons in order to keep their tan at the level they desire.

It is ironic how most people associate a golden one with youth and vitality, when in actuality it is quite the opposite. Tanning causes irreparable damage to the cells. Over time, the damage reaches the point where the skin itself loses elasticity and becomes like leather.

If you have ever seen someone who has tanned most of their lives, you know that they usually look ten years older than they actually are. If you use self tanning lotion, then you can avoid this problem and still get that great tan you always wanted.

You ...

BEAUTIFUL EYES  by

 James J. Jones
1/13/2008 at 12:52
A woman’s eyebrows are very important to the overall beauty of her face. If shaped right they will make her more beautiful and feminine. If her eyebrows are shaped wrong, they can make her look un-kept, tired or just odd. Most women know this but few know how to pluck their own eyebrows properly.

Shaping the brows is not easy work, especially doing it on yourself, unless you know how to shape them professionally. Offer to shape women’s eyebrows and come to their home or office to accomplish it for them. This should be quite appealing to most women that want perfect brows.

Since this is a personal care service, it is advisable for a woman to offer this service to other women. Many men can also improve their looks by shaping their brows, but it might be safer to offer this service to couples if you would like to shape men’s brows too. Offer to do a couple’s brows for a discount price. Maybe offer the second brow shaping for half off the normal price. Remember that men can have pretty unruly brows and might take more work than a woman’s brows.

You can also offer your services to groups, such as at parties. Offer to do the hosts brows free if they invite at least five more guests that will pay for having their brows shaped at the party. Make sure that you keep up-to-date with your services. Bring pictures of different brow shapes for people to choose from or so ...

MULTI PURPOSE HAIR STRAIGHTENERS  by

 Jene Pedder
1/13/2008 at 12:51
In the past few months there is a new idea to do with straighteners not only do they straighten but curl your hair too if you use the straighteners in the way shown. In the past straighteners have continued to change - not only to straighten your hair but to curl, dry, add shine etc. the list continues. Having looked at the multi purpose straighteners I have come up with a list of the most popular:

• The Morphy Richards hair straighteners can be used to curl your hair as well as straighten as well as giving flicks to the ends of your hair either inwards or to flick out its any easy thing to do and it adds some fun to your hair. The way to curl you hair using the straighteners is to clamp them over a section you have divided and try to keep the heated plates as close to the roots as possible. As you pull them through your hair, turn them 180 degrees by rotating your wrist, making sure you maintain an even, gentle tension on your hair. To produce tighter curls clamp the straighteners harder, and rotate the straighteners more and also increase the tension on your hair.

• Drying your hair whilst straighting this is now possible with a few brands of hair straighting including Hair Tools FHI Ceramic Hair Straightener, T3 Tourmaline Wet to Dry Hair Straighteners and Remington Wet 2 Straight straighteners. They say, towel dry your hair, then use the straighteners like ...

 Jene Pedder
1/13/2008 at 12:51
Hair Extensions have become more and more popular in the last few years due to more celebrities admitting there using them and that’s how they get their hair so long so quickly. You may be asking what are Hair Extensions - the answer is they are hair pieces which are attach to your scalp or your natural hair.

There are a variety of different types these include: human hair, animal hair and synthetic fibres. Human hair is the most expensive and also the one that looks the most natural. With human hair extensions you are able to get a better match with your natural hair but you can also colour them like you would do with your normal hair as well as washing it and styling it. Not only can the colour be matched but also the texture of your hair. There are 2 different formats of human extensions these are strands and wefts.

The strands format involves adding small sections of human hair to your natural hair. The wefts format is where large clumps of human hair attached to the top of your hair. There are also other ways to attach these including weaving, braided, clamped, glued or fused. If you don’t want the hair extensions all the time a good option is clip-on hair extensions.

Clip-on hair extensions are very popular with young adults, there easy to use, you can take them in and out as much as you want and there affordable. They not only offer you extra length but ...

 Robin Brain
1/13/2008 at 12:50
Every girl today wants to look good. They use a lot of cosmetics to make themselves beautiful. They take a lot of pains to improve their looks like straightening their hair, whitening their complexion using creams and making their lips lustrous using lip sense and lip gloss. Here we will discuss about their lips. The girls use lip sense to make their lips most kissable, attractive and lustrous. Lipsense is a product manufactured by SeneGence and is called SeneGence lipsense. SeneGence lipsense is a semi permanent lip color which imparts a particular color to the girl’s lips on a temporary basis.

Since SeneGence lip sense is semi permanent, so, it leaves an option for the girl who applies it on her lips that she wants to sleep without removing it or not. She can remove the color while removing rest of the make-up at night before sleeping or she can sleep with that color on her lips and when she wakes up the color looks as fresh as it was while sleeping or when it was applied to the lips. This lip sense lasts for many days unless it is removed by the girl itself. Moreover it contains substances which do not let the lips to get dried up. This means it can remain on the lips of a girl for many days and yet it will not dry the lips up. Those substances will keep on moisturizing the lips and make lips as beautiful and shining as they can be ...
